I know that Covid-19 has upended a lot of lives – possibly yours, too. So many destroyed hopes, futures, families, jobs. I cannot imagine what many people have to go through, on top of the struggles they have had already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I`m spending the summer in Newfoundland, as always, but I had to self-quarantine for two weeks first when I came here from Vancouver. On the island of Newfoundland, there are virtually no new virus cases. So people don`t worry too much about their health, although they worry about their finances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My life as a writer hasn`t fundamentally changed. It has actually picked up and for the better. My new English murder mystery will be published in November – something I`m really looking forward to! You will get the details soon. I am also writing a new German mystery that is set in St. Anthony, Newfoundland. And there is a travel guide about Newfoundland and Labrador that I`m working on, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides writing, I`m enjoying the simple life. I have started a potato garden! Who would have thought? I`ve been berry picking in the tundra and have enjoyed it very much. I\u00b4m making natural yogurt from scratch and – like so many others – I`m baking my own European style bread with a crust. It is especially good with fresh cod from the North Atlantic that my fisherman brings home. I have also discovered wild peas along the shore. And the beauty of flowers is just stunning in Northern Newfoundland. Lots to be thankful for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
