When you live in a remote part of a country, you don`t take it for granted that parcels arrive in your neck of the woods. I’ve been lucky: I got a box full of copies of my new book “Murderous Morning<\/strong>” that had crossed the border from the United States to Canada. Which is quite a feat in these not so reliable times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To hold a new book in my hands for the first time is always a moment of bliss. Here it is – my baby! This time I had my man film me while opening the parcel with a sharp knife. We used my cell phone and I gave him instructions. What I forgot to tell him was the clue when he had to press the stop botton. Alas! He went on filming long after I had finished. So much for the first take – it had to be repeated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also had an audience: the two foster cats that live right now in our house. They lost their old home and are looking for a new one. In the meantime I socialize with them and try to slim them down a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had some snow fall here in Northern Newfoundland, just a sprinkle but a sign for things to come. The wood furnace is going full blast and I have my winter clothes ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My translator Gerald Chapple keeps sending me chapters of my next English crime novel which features Calista Gates, a Canadian RCMP sergeant. I haven’t found a title for it yet but I will let you know soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
